Dr. Krause grew up on a farm in Illinois and earned her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Illinois. She then went on to Iowa State University and earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. Dr. Krause and her husband, Brian, live on a farm with cattle, chickens, ducks and many outdoor cats named by her children.  They have 3 active children, Clara, Leah and Cody as well as Boone, a Border Collie X and indoor cats Hazel and Fred.
